BJP Slams Congress Manifesto Over Wrong Photos, Calls It ‘Bundle of Lies’
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party over the inclusion of wrong and misleading pictures in its election manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The ruling BJP has accused the grand old party of lacking wisdom and attempting to mislead voters through its manifesto, dubbed the “Nyay Patra” (Charter of Justice).
Addressing a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi pointed out that the Congress manifesto features a picture of the Buffalo River in New York under the water management section. Shockingly, a picture from Thailand, which is known to be Rahul Gandhi’s favorite holiday destination, has been included in the environment section.
Using a popular Hindi proverb “Akal bade ya bhains?” (Is wisdom greater or the buffalo?), Trivedi mocked the Congress for displaying a lack of prudence in this matter. “Till now, they have not been able to find out who was posting tweets from their social media chairperson’s account. Now, who sent them these pictures? They did not use wisdom in either situation,” he said.
The BJP has alleged that the Congress has come out with a “bundle of lies” as its manifesto, with the sole intention of misleading voters. “It is an irony that Congress is seeking the people’s mandate with the promise to do wonders if voted to power,” Trivedi remarked.
Taking a jibe at the name “Nyay Patra” (Charter of Justice), the BJP spokesperson said that the very name suggests that the Congress had done injustice to the country during its 50-60 years of rule. “The Congress did not fulfill any of the promises made in its earlier manifestos for Assembly and Lok Sabha elections,” he alleged, asking, “Which are the Congress-ruled states where Rahul Gandhi’s promise of giving ₹72,000 to people has been implemented?”
BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya also mocked Rahul Gandhi and the Congress manifesto, saying, “It looks like the Congress forgot that it is preparing a manifesto for India and not putting together a holiday itinerary for Rahul Gandhi! What else explains using a picture of Thailand under the Environment section? It shouldn’t be a surprise if Rahul Gandhi dashes off to Thailand for yet another holiday soon after the elections.”
It is worth noting that the Congress has made several new promises in its manifesto, covering areas like education, agriculture, environment, law, and welfare schemes for Dalits, tribals, and backward classes. However, the BJP has questioned the manifesto, alleging that its sole purpose is to mislead the electorate.
The ruling party has accused the Congress of failing to deliver on the promises made in its previous manifestos, both at the state and national levels. The BJP has been relentlessly attacking the Congress, raising questions about its promises and the credibility of the pictures included in the manifesto.
