BJP ruled states announce reservation to agniveers in state jobs

Must read

As the BJP-led administration faces criticism from the opposition over the Agnipath scheme, several BJP-ruled states have come to its defense by announcing reservations for Agniveers in state jobs after their retirement. BJP’s allies, Nitish Kumar’s JDU and Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (RV), have also urged a reconsideration of the scheme.

The Rajasthan government announced on Saturday that they will offer reservations for Agniveers in the recruitment processes for jail and forest guards, as well as for the state police.

“The Rajasthan government has introduced a reservation provision in the recruitment of state police, jail guards, and forest guards for Agniveers, who defend the nation’s borders with dedication and patriotism,” said Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s office.

However, the specific percentage of reservation for Agniveers in these services was not revealed. The Arunachal Pradesh government also announced plans to provide training to local youths to prepare them for recruitment under the Agnipath scheme. Additionally, they stated that retired Agniveers would be given preference in the state’s police, emergency, and fire services.
