The voting for the third round of the 2024 Lok Sabha (Parliament) Elections in India is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 7th. This third phase of polling will cover 93 parliamentary constituencies spread across 11 states and union territories. According to the Election Commission of India, there are a total of 1,351 candidates contesting in this phase.
Initially, voting was supposed to happen in 94 constituencies across 12 states and union territories on May 7th. However, there have been a few changes. In Gujarat, the BJP has already won the Surat seat unopposed, so no voting is needed there. Additionally, the voting for the Anantnag-Rajouri seat in Jammu and Kashmir has been postponed to May 25th. On the other hand, the voting in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh, which was originally planned during the second phase on April 26th, will now take place in this third phase on May 7th. All the remaining 25 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat will go to polls in this third phase.

Goa: Both the 2 seats
- North Goa, South Goa
Gujarat: All the remaining 25 seats

The massive 2024 Lok Sabha Elections for India’s 543-member lower house of Parliament is being conducted in seven phases across the country. The first phase of voting took place on April 19th, followed by the second phase on April 26th. This upcoming third phase on May 7th will be followed by four more phases. Finally, the results for all the seven phases will be declared together on June 4th.
The polls see a tough fight between the ruling BJP alliance and the opposition parties. With over 900 million eligible voters, this is one of the biggest democratic exercises in the world. All eyes are on these elections as they will decide who governs India for the next five years.
