Modi’s Swearing-In Ceremony Today’s Updates: Today Narendra Modi will take oath as Prime Minister for the third time in a row. This makes him the first person after former PM Jawaharlal Nehru to become PM three times consecutively. Along with Modi, the new ministers in his government will also take oath today.

Many important guests from India and other countries have been invited to the ceremony. These include top leaders from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. Security has been increased a lot in Delhi. Rashtrapati Bhawan will have very tight security until June 11. Delhi and surrounding areas have been declared a no-fly zone, so drones and similar devices cannot be used.

When is Modi’s Swearing-In? President Draupadi Murmu will make Modi and the new ministers take their oath of office at 7:15 pm. Because of the many important guests, security has been highly increased around Rashtrapati Bhawan and in Delhi.

Security Arrangements Many traffic police, regular police and army personnel have been deployed across Delhi. Over 1,100 traffic staff are on duty and have been briefed on instructions. Traffic advisories have been issued for the public.

The New Ministers Along with PM-designate Modi, around 30 new ministers will take oath today, though the full council may have 78-81 members. Since BJP does not have a majority on its own, more leaders from allied parties like TDP and JD(U) may become ministers compared to last time.

Who is Attending? Leaders from neighboring countries like the Presidents of Sri Lanka and Maldives, Prime Ministers of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius etc have accepted the invitation. Some prominent Indian personalities and Padma/Padma Vibhushan awardees have also been invited.
