Prime Minister Narendra Modi is getting ready for his first trip outside India after becoming PM for the third time in a row. He’s going to Apulia, Italy, on Thursday for the 50th G7 meeting. This big meeting will happen from June 13 to June 15.
While in Italy, Modi might talk to the leaders of Italy, Canada, and the United States. This is his first trip after becoming PM again on June 9.
The meeting starts at 2:45 pm India time on Thursday. First, they’ll talk about Africa, weather problems, and growth. Then they’ll discuss Middle East issues and have two talks about Ukraine. On Friday, they’ll have three talks about people moving to other countries, the Indo-Pacific area, and a meeting with more countries.
The G7 is a group of seven rich countries: the United States, Japan, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, and Britain. The European Union joins all talks too.
The country hosting the meeting usually invites other countries. Italy has invited many guests this year, including the Pope, the King of Jordan, and leaders from Ukraine, India, Brazil, Argentina, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Algeria, Tunisia, and Mauritania (which leads the African Union now).
Leaders from the United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), African Development Bank, and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will also be there.
