On Monday (February 9, 2026), Kanpur Police registered a case against Shivam Mishra, son of pan masala businessman K.K. Mishra. He is accused of driving a Lamborghini at high speed, which hit pedestrians and two-wheelers on VIP Road in Kanpur’s posh Gwaltoli area. Six people were injured in the accident, and the incident caused anger among local residents.

The FIR was registered at Gwaltoli police station. Police filed the case under sections related to rash and careless driving that put people’s lives in danger, and for causing damage. These sections are part of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Police said necessary action is being taken in the road accident that happened on February 8, 2026, under the Gwaltoli police station area. A Lamborghini car hit a parked motorcycle and crushed it. The bike belonged to a man named Taufiq, who was injured in his arms and legs. He was taken to the hospital, given first aid, and later discharged. Taufiq then went to the police station and filed a complaint, after which an FIR was registered. At first, the case was filed based on the car’s details because the driver’s name was not known. The Lamborghini has been seized, said Kanpur Nagar Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal.

Police said early investigation showed that the Lamborghini was being driven by Shivam Mishra, son of K.K. Mishra. After the accident, two bouncers who were with him took the driver out of the car. Police were told that Shivam had some medical problem, so he was also sent to the hospital for first aid. Now that the driver has been identified, police are taking legal action against him. The car is in police custody, and an officer is checking all aspects of the case. Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal said the law is the same for everyone and no one will be spared. Strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty, and action will also be taken against anyone who tries to hide or twist the facts.
