Surat:PM Gujrat Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Gujarat on March 7-8 to inaugurate several development projects on International Women’s Day as well as participate in the Lakhpati Didi programme. A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Friday said that he will visit Silvassa in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu on Friday and inaugurate the NaMo Hospital (Phase I) at around 2 pm. The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth over Rs 2,580 crore for the Union Territory at Silvassa at around 2:45 pm. He will then travel to Gujarat and launch the Surat Food Security Campaign at around 5 pm. According to the statement, the Prime Minister will visit Navsari on Saturday and interact with ‘Lakhpati Didi’ at around 11:30 am. This will be followed by a public ceremony which will witness the launch of various schemes. The PMO said that the NaMo Hospital (Phase 1) in Silvassa will be a 450-bed facility which will be built at a cost of over Rs 460 crore and it will strengthen healthcare services in the Union Territory. It will provide state-of-the-art medical care to the people of the region, especially the tribal communities, the PMO said. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth over Rs 2,580 crore for the Union Territory in Silvassa. These include various rural roads and other road infrastructure, schools, health and wellness centres, panchayat and administrative buildings, Anganwadi centres, water supply and sewage infrastructure. The statement said that these projects are aimed at improving connectivity in the region, promoting industrial development, encouraging tourism, creating employment opportunities and enhancing public welfare initiatives.
