Stock Market Zooms: The trend of uptrend in the stock market continues and on the first trading day of the week, Monday, the BSE Sensex jumped more than 500 points as soon as it opened, while Nifty also opened with a stormy rise.
The stock market also had a great start on Monday, the first trading day of the week. After taking a tremendous rise last week, today the 30-share Sensex of Bombay Stock Exchange jumped more than 500 points as soon as it opened, while the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty also jumped more than 150 points as soon as it opened. Meanwhile, shares of PowerGrid, NTPC to RVNL and IREDA were seen running at a fast pace.
With the opening of the stock market, the BSE Sensex opened at 77,456.27 with a strong rise compared to its previous close of 76,905.51 and reached 77,498.29 in no time. Apart from this, the NSE Nifty index opened at 23,515.40, climbing from its previous close of 23,350.40.
2175 stocks made a strong start.
Sensex-Nifty opened in the green zone on Monday amid mixed global signals and Nifty-50 crossed the 23,500 mark in one go. In early trade, stocks of about 2175 companies started trading on the green mark with a rise, while there were 472 stocks that opened with a decline in the red zone, while no change was seen in the situation of 178 stocks.
L&T, PowerGrid, NTPC, ONGC, Hero Motocorp were ahead in early trade, while Titan, Trent, HDFC Life and M&M registered a decline.
