The police was also shocked when this sensational matrimonial fraud was revealed.
Actually, this story of fraud which started from a matrimonial site is of an NRI youth, who was looking for a life partner. He found a girl named Simran on the matrimonial site. The pictures were attractive, when he talked to her, his behaviour was also good. Little did the NRI youth know that this relationship was actually a trap in which he was going to be cheated.
According to the Crime Branch, the accused girl Simran introduced herself as a cultured, educated and serious girl for married life in her conversation with the NRI youth. The conversation shifted to WhatsApp, then video calls started. Another youth was also involved in this conspiracy along with the girl. He changed his voice using software and talked to the NRI in a girl’s voice.
After a few months of talking and trust, talks of marriage started. Meanwhile, Simran sometimes made excuses of family compulsions, sometimes visa, sometimes dowry and wedding preparations and extorted huge amounts of money from the young man in several installments. By the time the young man got suspicious, he had already sent about 2 crore 68 lakh rupees to the girl.
After this, when the young man made a video call, he did not see the girl whose picture was in the profile. He understood that he had been cheated. After this, the young man reached Indore and complained about the matter to the police. After receiving the complaint, Indore Crime Branch took the case seriously and started investigation. During this, it was found that this conspiracy was hatched by another person along with the girl. The mastermind of this entire fraud was a young man named Vishal.
