Toyota Recalls 655,000 Camry Cars Over Safety Display Issue

Toyota is recalling around 655,000 Camry cars worldwide because of a software problem that can make the car’s display go blank when starting.

The issue affects important safety features, including turn signals, hazard lights and seat belt warnings. If these indicators do not work properly, it could increase the risk of an accident.

More than 508,000 Camry Hybrid models from 2025 and 2026 are affected in the US. The recalled cars were made between December 2023 and July 2026.

Toyota will fix the problem by providing a free software update at its dealerships. Owners will be notified by mail and can also check online to see if their car is affected.
