Simple Wave vs Ather Konarc: Range, Battery, Features and Price Compared

The electric scooter market in India is getting more competitive, with Simple Energy Wave entering the family scooter segment. The new Wave comes with multiple battery options and is positioned as a practical electric scooter for everyday use.

The Simple Wave starts at ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with scooters such as the Ather Konarc, which has a starting price of ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Simple Wave offers four battery options — 2.2kWh, 2.7kWh, 3.7kWh and 5.0kWh. Depending on the battery, the claimed range goes from 110 km to 243 km.

The Ather Konarc gets three battery options — 2.1kWh, 2.7kWh and 3.5kWh. Its claimed range varies from 100 km to 161 km.

The Wave also produces more power. It has a claimed 8.5 bhp, while the Konarc produces 6.3 bhp. The Wave has a top speed of 90 kmph, compared with 70 kmph for the Konarc.

In simple words, the Wave offers a bigger battery option, higher claimed range and more power.

Storage and Practicality

Storage is another area where the Simple Wave has a major advantage. It offers 63 litres of under-seat storage, while the Konarc gets 31 litres.

The Wave also has a 4-litre storage compartment for the pillion rider. This can be useful for carrying small items during daily rides.

The Konarc, meanwhile, gets a 14-inch front wheel, while the Wave uses a 12-inch front wheel. Both scooters have a front disc brake and rear drum brake.

Features

Both electric scooters come with useful features such as USB charging, hill-hold assist, reverse mode, navigation, connected features and theft and tow alerts.

The Ather Konarc gets a 7-inch touchscreen with Google Maps integration. The Wave also gets a 7-inch display, but it is a non-touch unit.

The Simple Wave has an advantage with traction control, which is not available on the Konarc.

Simple Wave vs Ather Konarc: Price

The Simple Wave starts at ₹1.10 lakh, making it ₹10,000 more expensive than the Konarc’s ₹1 lakh starting price.

However, Simple Energy has not announced the prices of all Wave variants yet. Therefore, a complete price comparison will be possible only after the remaining prices are revealed.

Which Electric Scooter Is Better?

The Simple Wave looks stronger on paper if your priorities are range, power and storage. The Ather Konarc, on the other hand, offers a lower starting price, touchscreen features and a larger front wheel.

For family buyers, the final choice will depend on budget, daily travel needs and preferred features.
