Jharkhand railway mishap LIVE Updates: At least two individuals lost their lives and 20 sustained injuries after 18 carriages of the Howrah-Mumbai express train derailed early morning near Jharkhand’s Charadharpur sector. Railway authorities stated that the incident occurred when a freight train derailed and struck the Howrah-Mumbai Mail coming from the opposite direction. All injured passengers were transported to Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur.
Following the accident, Indian Railways called off five trains including Howrah-Titlagarh-Kantabanji Express, Kharagpur-Jhargram-Dhanbad Express, Howrah-Barbil-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express, Tatanagar-Itwari Express, and LTT-Express.

Earlier on July 18, at least four individuals lost their lives and around 20 were injured after several coaches of the Dibrugarh Express derailed in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee challenged the central government, stating, “This series of tragedies almost every week, this continuous string of fatalities and injuries on railway lines: how long will we endure this?”
