Apple Increases iPhone Prices in India After New iPhone Launch

Apple has increased the prices of some existing iPhone models in India after launching its new iPhone lineup. The price hike is significant, with some models becoming much more expensive.

According to the available details, the price increase in India is higher than in the US for several models.

📱 iPhone Prices See Big Increase

The lower-storage version of the iPhone 17 has reportedly become around 21% more expensive in India. Its price has increased to about ₹99,900.

The iPhone Air 1TB has seen an even bigger increase. Its price has reportedly gone up by around 41% to ₹2,24,900.

For comparison, the US price increase is lower. The base iPhone 17 has increased by around 13%, while the 1TB iPhone Air has gone up by around 21%.

💰 Why Are iPhone Prices Increasing?

Apple has previously indicated that higher costs of memory and storage chips are affecting product prices.

Growing demand for AI data centres has increased demand for these important components. This has pushed up costs for electronics companies.

India also has additional costs such as import duties and 18% GST, which can make iPhones more expensive compared with the US.

🇮🇳 What It Means for Indian Buyers

The latest price increase could make some iPhone models even more expensive for Indian customers. The higher prices have also attracted attention on social media, with some users saying that iPhones are moving further into the premium and luxury segment.

Key Highlights

  • iPhone 17: Around ₹99,900 for the lower-storage variant
  • iPhone Air 1TB: Around ₹2,24,900
  • Highest reported hike: Around 41%
  • Main reason: Higher memory and storage component costs
  • India pricing: Also affected by taxes and import-related costs
